Elegy in Scarlet
Crime consultant Scott Drayco is fighting a career-ending legal battle when his world is upended: his mother, missing for 30 years, is found alive—and accused of murder. With his father disowning her and the police convinced of her guilt,
everyone urges Drayco to walk away. But he can’t.
Driven by a need for answers, Drayco dives into the mystery. Is his mother truly a killer? Where has she been all these years? And why did she abandon her family without a trace?
As Drayco investigates the murder victim's colleagues, he uncovers a web of enemies, including a shadowy stalker linked to his mother. Drowning in secrets and lies, Drayco starts to question everything. Is this case part of an elaborate
scam, with Drayco as the ultimate mark? Time is running out, and the truth may shatter everything he thought he knew.
“This labyrinthine novel is great for those who love to be as intellectually frenzied as the detectives in the stories they read. They’ll be eagerly flipping back to look for Lawson’s strategically placed clues.” - Library Journal
“A fast-paced whodunit, Lawson’s recent installment in the Scott Drayco mystery series...contains enough pleasantly unexpected surprises and meticulous details to deliver a fresh mystery. Lawson’s protagonist is greatly compelling.” - Publishers Weekly Booklife Prize
