About the Author

John Sutter Wood began writing late in life. Over the decades, he has successfully pursued several disparate careers, retiring as a Senior Systems Analyst. He brings to his writing the depth and breadth of a lifetime of experiences and his personal insights into the nuances and subtleties of the human condition. His characters are richly formed, often people we would enjoy meeting in person… or would like to strangle if given the opportunity. He imbues his writing with his pawky sense of humor and enjoys a mischievous twist or two in his plots.
John lived and worked for many years in California. Like many before him, he chose to retire to his home state. He yearned to be cradled once again within Michigan’s freshwater shores, be among its rich green forests and romping wildlife and revisit memories from his now distant youth.
No longer forced to endure the grind of a daily commute, the inevitable winter storms pose no hardship. He now gazes out over the snow-covered terrain from the warmth of his study and murmurs, “Isn’t that beautiful… I wonder what’s for dinner…” Then, nodding his head, he bundles up, clambers aboard Tractor and though reluctant to disturb the pristine winterscape, with a small smile plows his long driveway, winding through the trees to the road.
John is home.
