Heroes A2Z #1: Alien Ice Cream
HEROES A2Z #1
ALIEN ICE CREAM
I scream, you scream. It's alien ice cream!
Join superheroes Abigail, Andrew, and Baby Zoë as they battle a strange alien that has plans to take over the world. By pretending to be a friendly ice cream truck driver, the alien offers free ice cream to everyone in town. Sound too good to be true? It is. Because eating alien ice cream turns humans into zombies! To save everyone and stop the alien, the three heroes must travel into deep outer space. There they will have to overcome robo-cone robots and the devious alien himself.
The 14-book Heroes A2Z chapter book series follows the funny adventures of three superhero kids from Traverse City, Michigan. Each illustrated book includes over one hundred drawings and is perfect for all elementary school students, grades K-6. The books in the series also make great read-alouds.
Meet Abigail, the oldest of the heroes. When it comes to sports, she can't be beat--not at arm wrestling, not at archery, and certainly not at aces on the tennis court. Andrew comes next. He's Abigail's twin, younger by a measly eight minutes. If it has wheels, Andrew can ride it. He's amazing, astounding, and accomplished on wheels. Last but definitely least is Baby Zoë. She's the strongest hero, like Superman in a diaper. She can't walk that well, but she can fly and shoot lasers out of her eyes. Zoë puts the "aww" in awesome.
Throughout their adventures, the superhero kids battle kung fu kitties, dinosaurs, aliens, monkey-driven monster trucks, and a rockstar from outer space. They travel to the South Pole, the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame in Ohio, and to scenic Mackinac Island. Wherever danger lurks, wherever villains strike, expect Heroes A2Z to save the day!

About the Author
David Anthony received his first typewriter in the eighth grade and has been banging on keyboards ever since. Along with co-author and friend Charles David Clasman, he has written over 20 books for kids. His children’s book series include Mystery Underground, Heroes A2Z, and Knightscares.
As a child, some of David’s best friends were books. He always loved to read. A friend first inspired him to write, and the steady encouragement of his parents and teachers kept him at it. Today he writes with the passion of his youth. No story that a child enjoys can ever too fantastic, too impossible, too spooky, or too silly for him.
Mystery Underground captures the spirit of scary monster mysteries in thirteen campfire-style short stories in every book. Upper elementary and middle school readers are invited to read a scare … if they dare.
Heroes A2Z follows the adventures of three superhero kids who fight crime before bedtime. Over one hundred illustrations compliment these humorous chapter books for all elementary readers.
Knightscares transports tween readers to a world of monsters, magic, and mystery. Meet a dragon. Ride a griffon. Save the world.
Since the publication of his first book in 2003, David has given more than 1,000 entertaining and educational book talks at schools and libraries with co-author Charles David Clasman. The duo has spoken at numerous literary conferences (including MEMSPA, OELMA, MRA, and MLA) and has been featured on radio, television, and in newspapers. They appear regularly at bookstores, festivals, and art shows.
David lives in West Bloomfield, Michigan with a patient wife, a semi-patient son, and a demanding dog. At least two of them usually need a haircut. When not writing or reading, David plays tabletop games with his son, engages in social media, and roots for the Detroit Red Wings.
