Highest Ambitions
Who controls the present controls the present – and nothing but the present.
The future is up for grabs.
Nightminster is from the back streets of what remains of London. He prowls the ruins of suburbia, seeking treasures of the past he can sell for gold. His ‘betters’ dismiss him as a punk. They don’t even begin to guess the vast ambitions throbbing inside his head. This young man is going to change the world – or else die trying.
His prospects are not promising. He lives in a slum lorded over by thugs who style themselves after the Nazi SS. Britain is not governed. There is no government. The Palace of Westminster is a chat-shop for landed gentry. The good old days are back.
Nightminster will change all that. In his mind, achieving the impossible is just a matter of time and willpower. The future is up for grabs!
As he ascends towards his highest ambitions, Nightminster is drawn into the vortex of a ravenous conspiracy, where love and victory shimmer just out of reach, where lies are traded and the truth silenced.
He’s about to learn how this world really works.

About the Author
Malcolm J Wardlaw is a dystopian author fascinated by how global society will deal with the coming impossibilities. It is necessary to be bluntly honest; it’s not possible to solve climate change, pollution and resource shortages without serious pain.
Sovereigns of the Storm (three-book serial) is set in a wild and lawless post-apocalyptic Britain (situated in a wild and lawless world). It suits the central character, Nightminster, just fine. He’s a workaholic winner prepared to take any risk to get what he wants. The problem is, another guy has the same idea. When the two collide, disaster shakes the entire country.
Sovereigns of the Collapse (five-book serial) takes place thirty-three years later. Britain is an even more paranoid and secretive society. Two brothers, Donald and Lawrence Aldingford, and one woman, Sarah-Kelly Newman suffer misfortunes that throw them into the vortex of a barbaric conspiracy long hidden from the world. They fight back against characters from Sovereigns of the Storm who are now at the peak of their powers. The stage is set for violent convulsions.
Each serial is stand-alone and there are no spoilers between them, so it does not matter which you read first.
