MY NAME IS GABRIEL FERNANDEZ: A Child Abuse True Crime Story (ABUSED TO DEATH)

Jessica Jackson

Gabriel Fernandez is probably the best known victim of child murder by abuse in the US.
Like Baby P in the UK, the torture of the eight-year-old shocked the nation, with many of us also watching the Netflix documentary on the case: The Trials of Gabriel Fernandez, with anger, sadness and frustration, leaving us with as many questions as answers:
Why was he taken from his loving home?
Why weren't his injuries taken seriously?
Who failed him the most?
And the question I ask in all my books: "How can we prevent children from being abused to death by their caregivers?"
Written from the child’s point of view, this story is not suitable for those under 18 nor those likely to be disturbed by descriptions of child abuse.

About the Author

"YOU'RE WRITING WHAT?!?" is the thing most people say about my books.
A child is abused to death every few minutes, and I write to raise awareness, and to honour the memory of the children, such as Gabriel Fernandez, Sylvia Likens, and Baby P, telling the stories they cannot tell us.
I begin with a fictionalised version of each child's story, based firmly on the facts, then follow up with details of the trials and sentencing.
I'm on Facebook: Jessica Jackson Writer Against Child Abuse
I live in the UK, and when I'm not writing about horrific cases, I love walking by the river, and eating chocolate. I'm a fan of soul, reggae and r&b music.
